Max has a 10 gallon tank that he will soon call his home.
In this tank I have put quite a lot of aquarium rocks of various sizes, gems, and stones. It is rather colorful and sparkles beautifully in the sunlight. There are only about three-four inches of water currently in the tank because... well, my room is upstairs and the tank was heavy enough with just the rocks and gems in it.
I put a bubbler into the tank and will be buying a filter for it as well, once I find one I think will suffice. I also need a top to the tank and a UVB lamp.
I know, I sound so very unprepared, but honestly Max is doing well here and other than giving himself soft-shell, he is a healthy happy turtle (except after baths).
My three fish are currently living in the tank and quite enjoying themselves. They were previously living in a small triangle-ish shaped aquarium, which got repulsively dirty much too quickly for my taste. I cannot for the life of me remember what kind of fish they are, but I do know that they are community fish so I can add more fish of varying species. No worries, these fish are too big for Max to try and eat... I hope.
Max did have a visit with the fish already. I wanted to see if he would try to eat them and how they would react to him. Everything seemed fine so once I get the turtle dock, Max should feel right at home with his new friends.
I plan on buying at least 7 more fish to go in the tank with Max and his three companions.
Til Next Time, Megan.
